British Poker Awards: Jake Cody as the Player of the Year
As expected, the British Poker Awards ceremony was held last weekend during the great poker festival held in Hanover Square, London at the fifth edition of the Poker In The Park. This great meeting place of poker enthusiasts was also an opportunity for some players and companies to receive the award from the British Poker Awards. Of course, all players who were nominated did not attend the award ceremony, but fans were able to meet poker celebrities like John Duthie's or Kara Scott. This year, the title of "Player of the Year" was awarded to Jake Cody who managed a remarkable feat this season. The 22 years Englishman indeed won a WPT and EPT title and a WSOP bracelet, which earned him to be classified as members of the "Triple Crown".
After the votes of poker enthusiasts, therefore, the result was as follows : the title of Best International Player was awarded to Jason Mercier, the Best Tournament Player went to Jake Cody, the Best Cash Player was Sam Trickett, the Best Mixed Game Player went to Richard Ashby, JP Kelly received the Best Pot Limit Omaha Player award, Chris Moorman for his part was the Best Online Player, TwoPlusTwo.com was chosen as the Best Poker Forum, the title of Best Blogger went to Neil Channing Blackbelt Poker Blog, The Best Social Media User was Vicky Coren, the Best Poker League was Champions League Poker, the Poker Personality of the Year was awarded to Kara Scott, the Best Contribution to Poker was won by John Duthie, Matt Perrins was the Best Breakout Player and finally the Lifetime Achievement Award was awarded to Roy Houghton.
