GUKPT Goliath 2011: Lee Rawson ended the tournament as winner
The Grosvenor United Kingdom Poker Tour Goliath (GUKPT) was held from August 24 to 28 in Britain, at Ricoh Arena in Coventry and saw the coronation of Lee Rawson. For this edition 2011, the GUKPT Goliath brought together 1,765 players who helped to bring the prize pool to £ 176,500. During the five days of competition, many big names of poker monopolized thz chipleading but in the end, it was the British Lee Rawson, who won the title of the year 2011. Lee Rawson won the trophy and the sum of £ 32,705 in the final, and he defeated Mark Broomhall and Simon Deadman in the last rounds. The latter, however, dominated the competition at the opening of Day 1 to Day 3.
The former professional poker player, Rawson, now aged 42, is the new champion of the Grosvenor United Kingdom Poker Tour (GUKPT) and won £ 32,705 after the elimination of the amateur Mark Broomhall (£ 21,120), Robert Panayi (£ 13,240), Simon Deadman (£ 10,590), Helen Godfrey (£ 8,120), Andy Nguyen (£ 4,235), Anthony Lissner (£ 3,300) and Mitchell Scarlett (£ 2,540) who occupied the final table. The top 10 of this competition is completed by Benjamin Jackson with £ 1,975. In terms of earnings per team, one of the novelties of this new edition, the Punters Lounge C won the title with 273.64 points followed by D Four (183.31 points),Team Nosebleed (145.01) and Northern Blueblood (121.28 ).
