DSO Marrakesh: The final won by the Spanish Carlos Casaprima
The Deepstack Open Marrakesh (DSO) tournament ended on Sunday, June 26, 2011 at the prestigious casino Es Saadi after four days of intense competition between players qualified for this last round. In addition to the two side events and parts of cash Game and Sit & Go, the 550 buy-in Main Event played with a structure of 50,000 chips and levels of 60 minutes was the most disputed part of this poker meeting in the Moroccan land. The main event gather for the occasion a field of 250 players.
Nine players composed the final table of this Deepstack Open of Marrakesh and the top 20 players of the ranking have been paid. This new deep structure tournament has seen the good performance of poker players from Spain. Indeed, the two Iberian players Vicente Ortiz and Carlos Casaprima have been the best of the competition among the 248 registered participants and they confront each other at the final head's up to win the first step of the podium. After a final duel that lasted about thirty minutes, Carlos Casaprima succeed by eliminating his compatriot Vicente Ortiz. For this success, the new winner of the DSO Marrakesh took home the sum of 21,000 against an earning of 17,000 for the runner-up of the competition. Before another come back in the Moroccan capital in December, the next steps of this poker championship will visit respectively Paris in September, Malta in October and in November 2011 in Vienna.
