La Réunion: Local tournaments to qualify for the WSOP
The passion for poker is not enough to allow fans of this card game to participate in the major events of the discipline that take place around the world. The case of players of the small island in the Indian Ocean, Reunion illustrates this situation. Indeed, the vast majority Reunion players who like this game have most often a difficulty in moving to a faraway place as the U.S. capital of gambling that is Las Vegas. The reason is simple, the financial means, usually expensive to prepare a poker event of this size is not always enough for the players.
Fortunately for them that more and more qualifying tournaments called "Pei" are organized on the island to receive complete packages including flights, hotel, the panoramic view of Las Vegas by helicopter and of course the entry fee to participate in the prestigious circuits having the same fame as the World Series of Poker (WSOP). In May of this year, the Hga Poker Tour of Reunion which registered a field of 600 local players allowed the four best classified along with other skilled players qualified online to take part in the current World Series in Las Vegas, held at the Rio casino. Similarly, no later than the end of last week, the tournament organized by the association "Poker Kings" saw two other players from Reunion among the 100 contenders to join the U.S. capital of the game and try their chances at the world poker championships.
