Note that this is the biggest poker festival in Ireland, a circuit whose first edition was held in 2001. Last year, the event has been once again crowned with great success thanks to the special animation of Dennis Taylor and Eric Bistow and the introduction of the Blind Mans Bluff's Championship, a no limit hold'em tournament in the dark where the competitors can see the cards of their opponents but not his own cards. During the main event, it was Nicholas Newport who won the coronation and the first prize of 125,000 by winning against the 347 players registered for the event. This year, organizers estimate to attract a large field at the main event of 1,100.
The main event of the Irish Winter Festival will allow participants to play Texas Hold'em poker for three days of competition starting on Saturday, October 29, 2011. The famous premium "Sole Survivor" to be offered to the last survivor of a value of 20,000 will be also available during this event. Since June 12, several satellite tournaments on online poker room were organized for the lovers of the circuit to win packages for the main event. But those who can not attend can also access the side event tournaments. Indeed, the organizers promise to develop interesting side events.
