Player of the Year of the WSOP: The buy-in, the field and the classification will be considered
Now, the organizers of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) will focus particularly on a new calculation system to identify the player of the Year of the series. Thus, those responsible of this prestigious international tournament felt useful to renovate the method of selection given the controversy that occurred last year about the designation of Frank Kassela rather than Michael Mizrachi. Therefore, it was decided that the new parameters of calculation in the ranking of Player of the Year 2011 will be applied from this year.
To offer a fair sentence, all the tournaments, that is to say, the 62 events including the 55 events taking currently place in Las Vegas and the seven others played in the city of Cannes on the sidelines of the WSOP-Europe will be considered all. In fact, the essential elements to consider in determining the player of the year of the WSOP 2011 are four in number. There will, among other things, the consideration of the admission, the influx of participants in each field, the rank of the player in each tournament in which he played and also the change of the coefficients and the nature of the variant. In addition, the payment system of the Main Event will also undergo a small change. Thus, the main event winner will be entitled to 500 points while the runner up will get 350. Patience is required because everyone should wait until the end of the European series in October to make the statements and know the new player of the year 2011.
