Lille Barrière Poker Tour: Pierre Portier at the top of the podium
Last weekend, the stage in Lille of the Barrière Poker Tour (BPT) tournament brought together 132 players. Despite the holding of the world championship of poker in Las Vegas, the BPT Lille had the same success as the previous two stages and attracted well known players as Nicolas Babel, Lucien Cohen, Sam El Sayed and Vanessa Hellebuyck. But after the two days of confrontation, it's Pierre Portier who had the chance to succeed to Bertrand Grospellier, the 2010 title holder. To win this superb victory with a prize of 28,000, Pierre Portier alias "Piotrec" ousted Youcef Benzerfa in the final heads'up. However, he highlighted throughout the competition his big ability to play poker. Benzerfa won then the title of runner up with a prize of 23,000 including the famous package to the World Series of Poker Europe Cannes (WSOPE).
Adrien Garrigues who managed to rank at the 3rd place, Yoni Houri (4th), Eric Sadoun (5th), David Jaoui (6th), Steven Moreau (7th) and Pierre Canali (8th) also qualified for the tournament in Cannes. During this BPT Lille, Roger Hairabedian and Ronan Monfort also made good feats even if they were not entitled to WSOPE tickets. They ranked respectively at the 11th and 14th place. Players who want to retry their chance to join the field of the WSOPE Cannes can still join the poker room of the Casino Barrière of Dinard from June 24 to 26 2011.
