FIDPA: Publication of the official rules of poker in tournament
"Harmonizing the rules of poker in tournament," this is the main purpose of the International Poker Federation (FIDPA). Thus, this organization founded in 2009 comes to realize its ambition by presenting on its new website a list of new rules for poker tournaments worldwide. To explain this initiative, Michelle Lau, head of FIDPA found useful to establish an official rule whatsoever for players or for the poker industry in general. For his part, Marcel Luske, another official of the organization find in these "rules of international poker" a simple and practical guide available to all those concerned, including tournament organizers.
Through the harmonization of rules of poker, the Federation has 81 technical rules and procedures. The whole regulations refers to the practice of live poker, but could also be a source of inspiration for online tournaments. The FIDPA, that took as reference the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) at its inception two years ago, believes truly in the uniformity of the practice of this game around the world. Moreover, the resonance of the online publication of these "rules of international poker" didn't wait a long time. Indeed, besides the participation of the Tournament Directors Association with the federation in the preparation of this rule, partnership with renowned institutions such as the Bellagio, the Belgian Circus or the Australian Poker League have already been signed.
