Barriere Poker Tour Nice: Victory of Jean-Michel Texier
The second stage of the Barrière Poker Tour (BPT) circuit held in the beautiful city of Nice, in France has just closed its doors. The tournament enjoyed a great success as 103 players were registered at the poker room of the Casino Barriere in this city of the Riviera, to attend the event. Besides the fact of being able to play poker in a professional setting, the BPT Nice was also a great opportunity for fans to get a package to the World Series of Poker Europe Cannes (WSOP-E) to be held in the same places very soon. As one of the competitors for the 1,500 main event, Jean-Michel Texier accomplished a great feat and qualified for the WSOP-E Cannes by winning the victory of the BPT Nice.
He succeeded against 102 other competitors and ousted Dominique Franchi on the final duel. This is his first major title, and apart from the package included in the first prize of 20,000, the great champion also pocketed a bonus cash of 8,000. As runner up, Dominique Franchi won the second prize of 17,000 and Philippe Zunino occupied the third place. Guillaume Cescut who just recorded his fourth participation on the final table of the BPT event also earned his entry fee to the tournament of Cannes by finishing eighth. Bruno Martin finished 4th, Mathieu Biagué 5th, Stephano Povia 6th and Pierre Roche 7th. The next meeting of this French circuit and for those who want to qualify for the WSOP-E Cannes will take place in Lille from June 3 to 5, 2011.
