Sambre Avesnois Poker Club: A field of 140 players for its first tournament
Everything is good to make a tournament a success in terms of participation. This is the likely catchword of the Avesnois Sambre Poker Club (CASP), in France which recently held its first poker tournament on Sunday, February 13, 2011. Indeed, the club headed by its President Alexandre Leuleux used mass media as newspaper, radio, website... for the organizing of this first meeting for fans of poker.
The media method chosen also paid off for this first tournament of the Poker Club Sambre Avesnois because some 140 people were present at the beginning of this event held on the morning of Sunday at the school canteen of Feignies. In general, poker players present during the event were aged around thirty years. In addition, the club's president Alexandre Leuleux said a low turnout of women but they played well compared to men, whether in reading the cards or in the way of bluffing. The hundreds of participants of this first meeting organized by the Sambre Avesnois were unanimous in recognizing the addictive nature of poker in terms of money. But, these same players have proved once again that it is always possible to play just for fun. And note that many prizes were distributed during this first tournament of the Avesnois Sambre Poker Club.
