European Poker Awards: British players invaded the podium
For 10 years, the poker community meet every year at the sumptuous lounge of the Aviation Club de France to attend the award ceremony of the European Poker Awards, which reward poker players who performed well throughout the year. This year's event was held at Queenie. The jury delivered eight trophies at the event among which five went to British celebrities. Effectively, French players hadn't enough luck in the selection. Thus, the title of best player of the year returned to Liv Boeree for her many conquests in the European Poker Tour circuit. She overtook the ladies world champion Vanessa Hellbuyck. James Edge has been voted best performance of the year by holding the title of WSOP Europe champion. And the reward for the player's career was won by Nick Szeremeta for all the magnificent feats he accomplished throughout the year 2010.
As for the EPT Deauville champion 2010, Jake Cody, his talent and his performances earned him two trophies including the title of best player of the year and best newcomer of the year. But the Lithuanian Tony G, best known for his exploits at the World Poker Tour Paris in 2005 and his virulent game mode also conquered the jury who awarded him the prize of the personality of the year. The prize of the best online player has been delivered to the Norwegian Andreas Torbergsen and the Spanish Gerad Serra Retamero was elected casino employee of the year.
