WPT Venice: A great performance by Alessio Isaia
The verdict was known at Casino Di Venezia after days of competition full of actions. While poker enthusiasts who have closely followed the progress of the final of the World Poker Venice(WPT) expected a victory of David Vamplev; the champion of the European Poker Tour has been entitled to the third place on the Venetian podium because the trophy and the 380,000 award was won by the Italian Alessio Isaia. Indeed, the great advantage of Vamplev in chips was not sufficient to enable him to win the title. It should also be said that the Italian who started his career as poker pro in 2005 already won the championship of the Italian Poker Tour San Remo in 2009 after a miraculous journey.
Alessio Isaia has as last opponent in the final duel, which was intense because lasted about eight hours, Szabolcs Mayer. The path to success has not been easy because Mayer almost take over the game at some moment. But with perseverance, talent and a lot of chances, the Italian finally seize the victory. Mayer was thus awarded the runner up prize of 229.000. The two players holder of the lowest stack at the final table who were Luca Fiorini and Paolini Renato scored respectively at the 6th and 8th place. The 7th place went to Max Lykov and the two representatives of the Hexagon Rodrigues Emmanuel and Adrien Garrigues were respectively ranked in the 4th and 5 th place.
