Dublin European Poker Deepstack: Magnus Nasslin succeeds to Fred Brunet
The fourth edition of the European Poker Deepstack confirmed its reputation as a great poker circuit because even if the field of 1,000 participants was not reached, the tournament has still known a huge success with 737 players registered for the Main Event of 550. Last year, the tournament attracted a field of 465 participants and crowned the French Fred Brunet as winner. The 737 competitors from 30 countries thus competed for the title in the Irish capital and for a share of the prize pool of 360,000 gathered for the occasion. In this edition, the organizers decided to award the 72 best players in the game. For five days, the Ballsbridge Inn hosted then an intense poker tournament.
Unfortunately, Fred Brunet could not achieve a doubling and France had no right to the coronation. It was the Swede Magnus Nasslin who grabbed the victory and the first prize of 70,000. Note that five French were among the finalists, including the only woman in the final table Marie Chalendard who finished 9th, Stéphane De Siester (8th), Quentin Lecomte (7th), Alexis Di Filippo (3rd) and the runner up of the tournament Laurent Catala who knew defeat in the final head's up during which he faced the event's champion Magnus Nasslin. The British Lim Wai Cheung awarded the 4th place, the Danes Simon Wilnius finished 5th and the Irishman Fergal Cawley ended this Dublin Deepstack at the 6th place.
