Dakar Poker Tour: A good run for French players
Since January 11, 2011, the Terrou-Bi Resort in Senegal gathers poker enthusiasts including a large delegation of French poker pro for the third edition of the Dakar Poker Tour. It must be said that French players did well to save quite remarkable achievements at this tournament. The event began with qualifying tournaments for the Main Event, on January 13, 81 poker players clashed during the Side Event deepstack of 500. The final table of the event was dominated by French players and the victory went to Mathieu Jacqmin, a regular of the Club Haussmann while Roger Hairabedian and Arnaud Esquevin won respectively the second and third place.
The Main Event of 1,500 buy-in registered a field of 108 players composed of a few local enthusiasts and poker players from France, Italy, Norway, China, Canada, Morocco and Ivory Coast. Some top players as Stéphane Bazin, Fabrizio Ricci, Anas Tadini, Erik Haik, Mesbah Guerfi and Roger Hairabedian were among the competitors of the tournament. And on the dawn of the final day, Mathieu Jacqmin find himself at the head of the ranking with 112,250 chips in hand, looking for a new consecration. Note that he pocketed 10,308 during his victory at the Side Event. Julien Yomtob, Jean Francois Queroue and Big Roger are among the top 10 and Hassan Fares, Thierry Journot, and Jonathan Bensoussan are also in well position to fight for the title. It is certain that the remaining players will strive to try to reach the final table.
