Poker Masters Series : A good harvest for Leo Margets
The Spanish live tournament circuit ended at the Gran Casino Costa Brava in Lloret del Mar on last December 17th, 2010. The three-day tournament Poker Masters Series has seen the participation of 32 players, half of them were competitors qualified online and they faced the top 16 professionals of Poker Masters Series España including Raul Paez, Ruben Velasco, Barny Boatman, Santi Terrazas and Leo Margets. This latter has once again excelled by winning the sum of 100,000 at the expense of the Director of Card Player Italy, Massimiliano Luppi. Before this latest victory, this woman Spanish professional player has already seized the title of the same tournament played on last November 26 that allowed her to win 48,000.
With this gain of 100,000 in more for this year, Leonor Perez-Margets rises at the rank of the fourth best player in the mixed Spanish poker ranking of all time. With her total earnings of $ 708,000, she is surpassed by Jesus Cortes Lizano who has a gain of $ 723,112, Raul Paez who accumulated 1.4 million dollars and the difficult to dethrone WSOP 2001 champion Carlos Mortensen who collected $ 9,931,493 in tournaments. As a reminder, Leo Margrets became well known in the circuit since 2009, in Las Vegas during the 40th World Series of Poker by finishing 27th on a total of 6,494 participants by being the best woman player for her $ 352,832 winnings. In addition, this year started well for her because in the beginning of 2010, she took the third place of a side event tournament of $ 2,000 buy-in at the Aussie Millions 2010 in Australia, in January. She pocketed $ 54,270 at that time.
