Las Vegas: Hold-up at casino Bellagio
Known for its capacity to host major poker tournaments like the World Poker Tour, the casino Bellagio in Las Vegas also attracts criminals. In fact, on Tuesday morning, Bellagio was the victim of a robbery. At around 3:50 am, a gunman arrived on board of a black motorcycle and entered in the famous casino. He filled his bag of chips between $ 100 and $ 25,000. In total, the grand theater of poker lost a total of around $ 1.5 million in chips during the theft. The robber did his operation within 2 to 3 minutes and then fled, taking the road to Flamingo in a westerly direction. Fortunately, the incident didn't made any victim.
This is the 10th robbery that occurred in Las Vegas in 2010. And the police believe the it was the same robber who grabbed $ 20,000 in Suncoast on last December 8. The director of game research at the University of Nevada, David Schwartz, revealed that the thief can't exchange chips for real money as easily especially those of $ 25,000. Indeed, these chips are only available to customers rarely. Moreover, it is clear that the casino will be very vigilant and strengthen surveillance. The police didn't exclude the presence of an accomplice within the establishment. Note that Bellagio is preparing to host another poker event in next January.
