WPT Five Diamonds : Esfandiari lead for the Day 3
The first two days of competition at the World Poker Tour Five Diamonds (WPT) have indeed closed. In total, the tournament drew 438 poker enthusiasts with a great influx of renowned players including Doyle Brunson who registered late because effectively, organizers decided to extend the registration until the end of the first game levels of the Day 2. With an entry fee set at $ 10,300 for this phase, the WPT Five Diamonds recorded a huge prize pool of $ 4,380,000 which will allow the organizers to reward the champion with a price of $ 870,124.
The public who attended the tournament at the Fontana Room at Bellagio was therefore entitled to a real show of poker. Antonio Esfandiari alias "The Magician" shone because after having classified in the 4th position at the start of Day 2, he finished chipleader and he is the only player who picked up a chip stack more than 400,000 chips at the end of the day competition. In second place is Daniel Fuhs with 397,500 chips in hands, less of 100,000 chips compared to that of Esfandiari. But the battle will continue and will be interesting because the legendary Doyle Brunson (9th), nor the great Phil Ivey (8th) will not allow themselves so easily overcome. In addition, a host of stars looking for new trophies are still in contention to name Fara Zaka (3rd), Vanessa Rousso (5th), Sorel Mizzi (6th), Michael Mizrachi, John Racener, John Juanda, Men Nguyen, Johnny Chan, Hoyt Corkins and Maria Ho.
