EPT Barcelona: A record crowd
Among the various existing major tournaments in the poker world, the European Poker Tour (EPT) circuit is one of the favorite for players. Organizers programmed for each editing different stages that take place in several European cities. It passage in the Catalan city always amazed fans of the game because in 2009; the tournament was a success with 468 players registered for the Main Event. EPT Barcelona 2010 is at its third day of competition. With 263 registered players for Day 1A and 495 for Day 1B, the Main Event field register a record attendance of 758 participants. These competitors come from 53 different countries with 121 of them local players eager to defend the colors of their country. Major countries of poker such as France, Italy, Germany and the United States are predominantly represented.
With a buy-in of 5,300, the organizers collected a prize pool of 3,790,000. Thus, the 112 top competitors of the tournament will be rewarded with a handsome fortune of 825,000 for the champion, 525,000 for the runner up and 300,000 for the third. For Day 2, 399 survivors returned to the competition venue of the Gran Casino to qualify for the third day of competition. At the end of Day 3, there will be more than 24 players to start the Day 4, the decisive day for determining the 8 finalists who will fight the title of the event on Saturday, November 27 at noon.
