First WPT Regional Series: Another record for the young Harrison Gimbel
Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino had the privilege of hosting the first World Poker Tour Regional Series on last weekend. 239 participants were present at this tournament of $ 5,000 buy-in among whom a multitude of professional players as the last finalist of the NAPT Los Angeles, Jason Mercier, Jeff Madsen, Josh Arieh, Shannon Shorr, Allie Prescott or Joe Serock. As expected, the first step of the WPT Regional Series Hard Rock Fall Poker Open hosted fans of this circuit with joy. The competition was not gone unnoticed by the 239 followers of the discipline who were present to compete for this new regional circuit.
For this new regional structure of the WPT hosted by the State of Florida, luck smiled again to the very young professional player Harrison Gimbel who won the sum of $ 330,000, among the top 21 awarded players. Thus, a new record achieved by this talented poker enthusiast of just 20 years who has at his credit the status of the youngest player at the age of 19 years to win at the beginning of the year the Caribbean Adventure 2010. With $ 2.67 million earned in his career which has just started, this young holder of two record, Harrison Gimbel, has yet one handicap: he has not yet reached the required age to spread his knowledge to the world through the World Series of Poker. Now, he must wait his 21 years before to take this new step.
