EMOP Malta: The Italian Simone Lombardo triumph against Matthias Fricke
The penultimate stage of the European Masters of Poker tournament Malta (EMOP) crowned a champion in the person of Simone Lombardo. It was a great event of poker that brought together 240 enthusiasts of the game. It should be noted that the Main Event tournament offered an entrance fee of 1,500 + 150. To win access to the throne, the champion had to challenge many talented players and especially those of the final table. After a fairly exhausting course, he managed to find himself face to the German Matthias Fricke at the final heads' up during which he emerged to win the crown. However, after a deal, the runner up took home the top prize of 81,590.
For this final, the third place went to the Ireland's John O'Shea, the two Swedes Johan Berg and Henrik Waltersson finished respectively 4th and 5th, the player from the Czech Republic, Jan Bures (6th), Spain's Raul Gonzales finished 7th, the Finn Jari Kylmälä 8th and the two Germans Christoffer Gross and Manfred Wartenberg at the 9th and 10th. In the latest stage of the EMOP on December 5 to 12, 2010, fans of the poker circuit can expect a great event especially as the tournament will take place aboard a luxurious cruise ship on the Mexican Riviera. In addition, a multitude of poker stars have announced their participation in the tournament as Manig Löser, Simone Lombardo, Kalle, Björn Lundgren, Vladimir Mefodichev, Timothy Timotheou, Matias Knappinen Giovanni Sutera, Primo Urek, Manfred Kåvestam, Maciej Lipny, Matthias Fricke, John O'Shea, Henry Ovaska, Povilas Purtokas and Erik Skarp.
