The public coming at the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles hoped to see a new exploit of the poker player Jason Mercier, who already holds a World Series of Poker (WSOP) trophy and a title at the European Poker Tour (EPT). Unfortunately, he just missed a prestigious title that could further embellish his record besides the grand prize of $ 725,000 pledged for the occasion. Indeed, after having reached the second position at the starting of the the finalof this North American Poker Tour (NAPT) tournament after the chip leader Chris Demaci, he wasn't able to accede to the throne because eliminated in the 7th place. So this time, luck was on the side of Joe Tehan. The champion began the final table as 5th in number of chips. But perseverance, talent and luck worked together to enable Tehan to get the trophy.
Throughout this final battle, Joe Tehan managed to make a fantastic comeback and managed to round up everything in his path. He amassed a good stack before facing the chipleader on the arena of the final duel. After three hours of confrontation, Chris Demaci was defeated at the runner up spot. This is the first feat in the NAPT circuit of this champion but note that he already won the World Poker Tour Mandalay Bay Poker Championship in 2006. The gain that he harvested will be beneficial for him because Joe Tehan saves money for his wedding scheduled to take place in February 2011.
