SPT Valencia : The Triumph of a Dutch trio
The fourth stage of the season 3 of the most prestigious poker circuit in Spain, the Spanish Poker Tour in Valencia (SPT) had just ended, a tournament which ran from October 1st to 3rd, 2010 at the Casino Cirsa. This new stage of SPT Valencia brought together some 195 participants for a guaranteed prize pool of 195,000. The competition which took place on the Iberian Mediterranean coast has received well-known European poker players like Steven Van Zadelhoff, Catarina Santos, Cristiano Blanco, Leo Margets, Tobias Wagner, the WSOP champion Sigur Eskeland, Laura Cantero but also French players as Claude Julien Pierre, Valentin Messina and Leo Truche. This new Spanish Poker Tour tournament designated as winner the Dutch Koen Berendsen with a nice sum of 61,200 after taking the best place in a quick head's up against his compatriot Rene Van Damme who won 18,540.
This is a real feat for Holland with a third Dutch, Tim Van Der Zwet who rose to the top three spot of the podium, pocketing 18,540. Besides these top three rankings, the 15 other top players were paid at this stage of SPT Valencia with the 6 other finalists who were Leo Truche with 13,740, Emeric Marcia ( 11,160), Pascual Gil ( 9240), Guillen Usero ( 7,440), Javier Molina ( 5,580) and Pier Luca Salassa ( 3,720). Note that the next stage of the Spanish Poker Tour 2010 will be held at the Gran Casino Aljarafe of Seville from November 5th to 7th 2010 with a satellite qualifier from 1.
