EPT London : David Vamplev wins the prize of £ 900,000
The big poker event held at the Hilton London Metropole has just ended. The European Poker Tour (EPT) London was a huge success with 848 players registered for the Main Event. The 8 finalists began the final phase of the tournament with Sweden's Per Ummer as the first eliminated. Despite his fame, Tom Marchese has also not been able to show his game and his skill on the final table and was eliminated at the 7 th place. He was then followed by Fernando Brito, Kayvan Payman, Artur Wasek and the chip leader of that time Kyle Bowker. They were great surprise at this appointment, something that the community coming to attend this poker tournament was not expecting to see. Indeed, no one doubted that the Scotsman of 23 years David Vamplev could be qualified at this level.
The young player has faced at the final heads'up the well known champion of the World Series of Poker John Juanda. By evicting this talented player, Vamplev completed a course more than heroic. It was as if by magic, the young Scottish owner of a small stack grabbed the victory by showing very well controlled and aggressive play. Juanda was thus settled for the runner up spot and the second prize of £ 545,000. He just missed his famous tripled WSOP, WPT and EPT. The king of the day at the Hilton Metropole was finally the young graduate of Mathematics from the University of Fife, David Vamplev, who pocketed for this wonderful victory the handsome sum of £ 900,000.
