EPT London: A record turnout and a new feat for Annette_15
As it was expected, this step of the Season 7 of the European Poker Tour (EPT) has recorded an unprecedented success. Indeed, after the Day 1A with a remarkably broad field of 339 participants, the Day 1B also registered a record attendance with its considerable 509 registered players. In sum, therefore, 848 participants were present to fight for the title and the price of this magnificent tournament. At the end of Day 1B, the Italian Claudio Cecchi were at the head of the race with 237,500 chips. The former Irish footballer and twice winner of the Grosvenor United Kingdom Poker Tour Tony Cascarino, Phil Ivey and Daniel Negreanu are also included in the list of players in the best position for the rest of the competition. Approximately 250 players survived on Day 1B and 400 competitors will start the second day of competition.
The champion of the EPT Vilamoura Toby Lewis and the former EPT London champion Aaron Gustavson are part of the eliminated of the day. But alongside the main event took place the first two side event of the EPT London which are the £ 1,000 buy-in Event held on Wednesday evening and was won by Toby Lewis and the $ 5,250 buy-in Heads'Up tournament. During the second tournament schedule, the coronation is returned to the young Annette Obrestad. She completely dominated her 63 opponents. She is the reigning champion of the event and pocketed £ 120,000 for the occasion after eliminating Bernd Gleissner during the final duel. This is a new feat accomplished by this young poker star.
