Record time in playing poker : 80 players will try to beat it
A group of New Zealand players will certainly beat the record for the longest poker part of 115 hours straight currently held by Phil Laak. Indeed, the collective known as NZ Poker Tours will attempt for the month of November 2010 to exceed 4 days and 19 hours of play longevity and will write in their new performance in the Guinness Book. The tedious appointment will start on Monday, November 22th for five straight days at the Grand Hotel Wanganui in New Zealand. 80 Kiwis will be selected to play poker tournament that will probably last over 115 hours. A $ 20 NL Hold'em rebuy unlimited entry will be the main event of this new record attempt. The 80 players in New Zealand will start with a stack of 20,000 chips with blinds of 100/200 and they can increase it only after that the record has been beaten.
Several side events will be played also on the sidelines of the tournament. About the break given to each player, it is expected that each of the 80 participants can have 5 minutes per hour that could be accumulated and take a rest a little longer. In addition, the record will not be approved if the dinner break is too long. Similarly, drunk players will be eliminated and ousted automatically from the tournament. Narcotics, stimulants and other drugs are also prohibited. In all case, the organizers hope that at least two players will come to beat the recent record registered by Phil Laak. Note that the profits from the event will be offered to two charities that are the Foundation Make A Wish and the Starship Children's Hospital.
