World Series of Poker Europe 2010 : Starting of the race for bracelet
The fourth edition of the tournament World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) 2010 has just started yesterday. A field of 244 participants were registered for the first event, the Six Handed NL Hold'em of £ 2,650 buy-in. Some notable players looking for a bracelet have already tasted defeat at this first event like Sorel Mizzi, Annette Obrestad, Frank Kassel, Barry Greenstein, Mike Matusow and Tom Dwan. The two Phil, Ivey and Hellmuth but also Allen Cunningham, Chad Brown and James Akenhead were also ousted early in this event. After the Day 1, it remains more than 31 competitors in the race. Chris Bjorin and Chris Moorman led the tournament at the moment but Andrew Pantling is still a big opponent for them. Jeffrey Lisandro, the champion of the European Poker Tour San Remo Liv Boerre, Phil Laak and the third finalist of the WSOP Europe 2009 Praz Bansi are among the favorites still in contest for the title.
The survivors of the day are back on the table today and the 6 best players in the tournament will be part of the final table. Note that the prize pool of this tournament amounted to £ 610,000 and 24 players will be rewarded with £ 170,802 for the champion. Four other events will take place again at the casino At The Empire in the coming days as part of the WSOP Europe 2010. The Main Event, which will certainly attract the attention of poker enthusiasts around the world will begin on September 23rd and the champion who will succeed Annette Obrestad and John Juanda, as the winners in 2008 and 2007, will be known on September 28th, 2010.
