World Poker Open VI: Kick off of the tournament in London
A new competition that will surely attract the poker community has just started yesterday at the Palm Beach Casino, in Mayfair, in London. This is the World Poker Open VI, an event that will face the 48 best poker players in the world around tables of Sit'n Go. The 48 participants in this tournament have paid the buy-in of $ 10,000 generating a prize pool of $ 480,000 of which $ 200,000 will be awarded to the winner. Note that the World Poker Open VI is composed of six sit'n go of 8 players and the competition will be held from September 6th to 9th, 2010. The winners of each table will complete the list of finalists.
Illustrious poker players filled the field of the event just like the champion of the European Poker Tour Vilamoura 2010 Toby Lewis, Tom Dwan, Annette Obrestad, Brandon Cantu, Praz Bansi, Huck Seed, Luke Schwartz, Sorel Mizzi, Sandra Naujoks, Jack Cody who has just been crowned champion of the World Poker Tour London, Jennifer Tilly and many others. France will also be represented by Bruno Fitoussi and Fabrice Soulier. Yesterday, Marty Smyth, Sam Trickett, Dan Fleyshman, James Akenhead, Neil Channing, Lee Atherton, Peter Jetten and Ian Frazer started the game. The winner of last year as Phil Laak is also present to defend his title. He will play on table on September 8th with as adversaries John Tabatabai, Toby Lewis, Roland De Wolfe, Dale Hoy, Heather Mercer, Tom Dwan and Jason Gray.
