Best women poker players : Over $ 2.4 million gain for the 6th
Several criteria can be established to designate the best poker players in the world. But the importance of pocketed gains in live tournaments has been taken as a reference to distinguish the best players in the world. In this category, is classified in the tenth place the woman player from Texas of 38 years old Clonie Gowen who pocketed more than $ 1.6 million, thanks to her win at the $ 5,000 Bellagio Cup IV 2007 that allowed her to collect $ 427,775. The Vietnamese Mimi Tran is in the ninth position with a gain of $ 1,639,117 including a third place which means a gain of $ 472,228 during a stage of the WPT in Mashantucket in 2006.
Considered as the new rising star in the poker circuit, the player from New York Vanessa Selbst ranks eighth with earnings exceeding $ 1.7 million. Among her major feats include a first bracelet in a $ 1,500 Pot Limit Omaha Side Event in 2008 for a gain of $ 227,933 and especially her excellent performance in the NAPT Mohegan Sun which let her to win $ 750,000. The player who takes the seventh place is rather special because Liv Boeree is the only woman player from England to appear in the top 10 woman players who had the biggest gains. She signed a gain of 1.25 million or $ 1,698,300, the third most important gains ever won by a woman in a poker tournament, gained after her victory at the European Poker Tour (EPT) San Remo. Joanne Jishung Liu, another player of Asian origin appear at the sixth place. This 45-year-old Taiwanese earned the sum of $ 2,412,278, including $ 600,000 pocketed during her second place at the WPT San Jose in 2007.
