French operators of casinos : To conquer also online poker
Online poker is legal since the end of June 2010 in France. In general, this liberalization accompanied by various measures made without incident except for the delay on issuing licenses to operators, old and new operators. Everyone come into the arena to share this lucrative French market including terrestrial casinos operators. We learned recently that 40 casinos clustered together to operate a new online site and this, after receiving permission from the authorities. This site specializes in the variant Texas Hold'em poker. A big investment is necessary to be known in a very important competitive sector as online poker and it is not surprising to hear that the group invested a big package to get a good seat. September 1st is the date of the starting of the site.
According to different actors, liberalization has to clean operators by separating legal and illegal ones. All sites in France are now governed by this law and those who try to break it will be considered as inaccurate and hazard banishment. Approval is required unless the site will be automatically blocked. But let's come back to the newcomer. Online poker rooms are independent, different of terrestrial casinos, so also means a license very different. But that does not exclude that online gamblers could taste the fun of poker in a terrestrial room one time. Remember that physical casinos are in bad shape now because of the economic crisis affecting all sectors.
