Kevin Thurman: A poker player despite his terrible disease
Kevin Thurman, known by the middle of poker under the name "WizardOfAchs" is a 31 years player. It must be said that this nickname was not chosen randomly because actually, that player is suffering a terrible disease, Lyme disease. It is a bacterial disease multi-organ and multi-systemic which kills its victims progressively and to combat it, Thurman should undergo regular chemotherapy sessions. Despite the suffering that weighs on his life, the young American did not let down but increased exploits in the field of poker, his great passion. Indeed, Kevin Thurman became familiar with poker at the age of 8 years. At the time, his father invited him to play in the parties dealer choice. And since then, he accomplished great feats.
Thurman was an avid practitioner of cash games. He managed to accumulate until a gain of over 2 million dollars in five years. It is a considerable achievement. He hopes to double that result this year and to this end, he decided to play in 30 tables simultaneously for 6 hours consecutive. And after a break of half an hour, he will resume the same pace. This is an enormous challenge in knowing the suffering caused by his illness but Kevin is very confident. Moreover, the young poker player has an exceptional talent, allowing him to achieve such a goal. A priori, Thurman is thirsty for life despite the rude battle that he must face daily. Let's hope he will accomplish his dream.
