WSOP 2010: Cuong 'Soi' Nguyen, in the footsteps of Chris Moneymaker?
Cuong 'Soi' Nguyen, a poker enthusiast from Vietnam aged 37, is among the favorites who are entering the final table of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2010. Cuang Soi Nguyen is not yet a pro poker player like all the other competitors of the November Nine. However, he has the necessary talent and skills to take the title. Indeed, before venturing into this great poker tournament, Soi Nguyen has only played in three live tournaments and it is also his first entry at the WSOP. He works as a manager for medical supplies company but because of his real passion for this popular game in the U.S., actually, Soi Nguyen is an American citizen who lives in California. Even though he is a beginner at the WSOP, Soi Nguyen did not have too much difficulty to reach the final table, a feat that many poker players covet.
Moreover, Nguyen has long dreamed of being part of those great adventurers of the November Nine ever since Chris Moneymaker, an amateur like him, who won the title against Sam Farha in 2003. Among his circle of friends are included famous poker players such as David Rheem, Steve Sung, JC Chan and having grown up with pros of the game like Nam Tuan Le, Cuong Nguyen is a player who could certainly compete with other well-known players such as Mizrachi. With 9.65 million million chips in hand, Soi Nguyen will therefore try to win the victory in the final of the WSOP. And no matter his result, this exceptional adventure that Cuong Nguyen is going to live will not only increase his gain in live tournament which currently stands at $ 1,980 but also to gain a reputation in the community.
