Filippo Candio: On the way to defend the honor of Italy
Filippo Candio is part of the November Nine competitors. The 26-year-old from Calgiari in Sardinia, Italy, has already received like the other players the sum of $ 811,823 as a finalist in the World Series of Poker (WSOP). But in November, he will try to convert his 16 million chips in 8.9 million dollars in real money. Besides his success in the Italian Poker Tour circuit, Candio's still new in North America's tournament and his style of play is still indescribable. However, he has immense talent. Candio studied Greek and Latin at the university and intended to start a career as a lawyer like his father who is also a very famous lawyer in Sardinia. But his passion for the game led him to abandon his studies. He started playing in cash games where he gained his first experience. And like all the other poker players, Candio hopes to win the prestigious title of the WSOP.
Effectively, Candio will defend Italy's honor during the competition in November. He also said he plans to promote poker in his native country. To achieve his goal, he plans to take a coach to improve his strategies. Candio used to take this initiative because the young Italian will face talented players like Michael Mizrachi, Joseph Cheong and Jonathan Dumahel. But whatever happens, Candio is already in heaven by being part of this famous list and is happy to live this amazing adventure. The final table will begin on Nov. 6, 2010 and on November 8, the winner will receive his crown as world champion of poker.
