Dan Kelly: One of the best beginners in the WSOP 2010
Like every year, some poker whiz kids made their first entry at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2010 in Las Vegas if we only mention players like Carter Phillips, Jim Collopy, Annette Obrestad, Jeff Sarwer, Ashton Griffin, Luke Schwartz, Dan Kelly and Tom Marchese. Most of them have recorded a good result and despite the fact that they didn't accessed in the Main Event final table, the poker community has been able to appreciate their talent and great ability in this tournament. Dan Kelly and Carter Phillips are the young players who made great achievements in the WSOP because they were part of four paid places while each one won a WSOP bracelet. Kelly, champion of the $ 25,000 No-Limit Hold'em recorded a gain of $ 1,338,609 during this summer. And Phillips, as the winner of No Limit Hold'em Six-Handed of $ 1,500 buy-in has won with his first bracelet a total win of $ 560,498.
The young Norwegian Annette Obrestad was also part of 4 listings paid with a gain of $ 41,494, a result which somewhat disappointed some fans who hoped from her a similar performance to that which she showed at the WSOP Europe at the age of 19. Nevertheless, we must say she does not lack talent for posting such a result. Among the beginners to the WSOP with gains, there was Jim Collopy with $ 47,079 for four cashes, Tom Marchese ($ 144,300 paid for 2 seats) and Jeff Sarwer ($ 9,370 in 3 paid places). The luck was not on the side of Griffin and Schwartz, but their participation in the WSOP has certainly given them a great experience.
