Johnny Chan: The player from Guangzhou with 10 bracelets
Johnny Chan is a great poker player known for his talent and his extraordinary track record. Originally from Guangzhou, China, Chan and his family emigrated to the United States when he was 16 years to grow the family business in the field of restoration. As any poker player, Chan started on poker tables with $ 500 in hand and sometimes he came home with $ 20,000 in hand and sometimes ruined. At the age of 18 years, Chan joined the University of Houston to continue his studies in restaurants and hotels. But with his passion for poker which continued to plague his mind, he decided to abandon his studies at the age of 21 years to begin a career of professional in poker. To do this, Chan decided to move to Las Vegas.
But Johnny Chan was unable to improve his career until he took care of his physical health. Indeed, Chan dropped the cigarette and began to consider the quality of his health and energy foods. In 1987, the Chinese player has shone by becoming the world champion of poker. Since then, he has gained great success and currently he holds 10 bracelets of the World Series of Poker by winning in 6 variants of poker. He is beautifully placed in the Superstars Invitational circuit and recorded three wins in Poker After Dark. And apart from his talent for poker, Chan is also an exceptional father for his six children and a successful businessman because he has a great restaurant bearing the name of the Stratosphere Hotel in Las Vegas.
