We know that taking part and especially to win the World Series of Poker (WSOP), the most prestigious poker tournament in the world that exists, is the dream of all poker professionals, in short, the culmination of a career for poker lover. In each edition of the WSOP, before the Main Event, the title of Player of the Year is awarded to the best player of the different series of tournaments that have been completed. He is designated before that great event and the criterion for doing this is simple: performance of participants during the year on all open tournaments (except Casino employees event, Ladies Event, Senior Event and the Main Event). For the 2010 season, this prestigious title was awarded to Frank Kassel. A 42-years-old American confirmed player from Chicago, he succeeds to the Italo-Australian Jeff Lisandro holder of three bracelets last year.
This distinction, Kassel won it thanks to its two bracelets this year, respectively, earned in the Event# 15 and the Event #40. And he almost repeat the feat of his predecessor in Event #52 but was beaten by Dan Kelly, however, he picked up the tidy sum of 556,053 dollars and finished 3rd. We had also add in the balance his other good performances as his 10th place in the Event # 12 of $ 1,500 No Limit Hold'em for 11,027 dollars earning. In the Event # 48, Frank Kassel won 5,376 dollars in the $ 2,500 Mixed Event. Ultimately, it is legitimate if the jury named the player of the year with such result in his pocket. 285 points against 225 for his runner John Juanda. Vladimir Schmelev complete the podium finishing in the 3rd place.
