Peter Eastgate : Goodbye to poker tables at just 24 years
Born on December 3rd, 1985, Peter Eastgate is a talented poker player from Dalum, Denmark. He had a passion for poker and he managed to pocket a lot of gain in various tournaments. Having won so much money prompted him to leave his studies because he was a former student in economics. During his career as a poker pro, Eastgate continued to perform great feats. He was among the finalists of the Irish Poker Open tournament and part of players having reached the paid places of the European Poker Tour Scandinavian Open. But his success was revealed in 2008 when he was crowned world champion of poker by winning the title of the Main Event of the World Series of Poker 2008. It was an extraordinary triumph because at the time, Eastgate was only 22 and he managed to oust great players who made up the broad field of 6,483 players. This great victory earned him a WSOP bracelet and a grand prize of $ 9,152,416. Since then, he continue to win various titles in major tournaments.
But the young player who succeeded in deposing the great Phil Hellmuth on his pedestal as the youngest World Champion of Poker decided to stop playing. Eastgate announced that he no longer feels the same enthusiasm as before and he prefers to seek other interests. Furthermore, he maintained he never thought to stay for a long time in the game. He did not forget to thank all those who supported him during his years of career as a poker pro despite this somewhat sudden stop.
