French online gambling : The enrollment tenfold since the opening of the market
Shortly after the legalization of online poker and sports betting in France, many operators have already experienced a significant influx of their customers, which probably involves an increase in their turnover. On the one hand, the French players have therefore terminated their subscriptions on gaming sites not approved in France and rushed to the allowed sites. In the list of these sites having a French license is the operator of horse betting PMU. As a reminder, this company have received three gaming licenses, a license on sports betting, horse betting license and poker license. In a statement published last Monday, the operator says that the number of its customers quadrupled.
During the month of June 2010, the PMU registered 64% increase in the number of clients compared to the previous month and 346% compared to June of last year. In addition, its turnover during the first half of 2010 increased 0.6% or 4.717 billion Euro. But such increase in the number of subscriptions is not only the result of the opening of the market, legal operators of online poker and sports betting as the PMU have invested heavily in advertising. In total, this public company broadcasted 23% of the advertising of online gaming operators in French media. During the period from June 8th to 27th, according to a study by the research institute and media watchfullness Kantar Media, the total investment at stake in the advertising of sports betting amounted 22 million.
