WSOP 2010 : Still no bracelet for women
At the beginning of the 41st World Series of Poker, the press community was convinced that 2010 would bring luck to descendants of Eve and not less than three WSOP bracelets will fall into their hands. At the moment, at the 4th week of the tournament, these odds are all false because any woman player has yet won a single trophy until here. For example, there is Jennifer Harman who achieved until here the best woman performance by taking the third place in the $ 10,000 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo Split-8 event, and Christine Pietsch, who finished second in the Event # 21 $ 1,500 Seven Card Stud for a gain of $ 86,756, and also JJ Liu ranked third in an event of Pot Limit Hold'em $ 1,500 buy-in.
Other well known players are now far away from this target, as the favorite Annette Obrestad rewarded twice despite her 72nd place in the $ 5,000 No Limit Hold'em event for a gain of $ 10,497 and another in the $ 2,500 No Limit Hold'em - Six Handed event, ranked 126th for a sum of $ 4,782. There is also Vanessa Rousseau who has been at the 421st place winning $ 1,877 in a donkament of $ 1,000 buy-in before she recover in the Event # 35 Heads Up No-Limit Hold'em Championship by obtaining the 5th position for a gain of $ 94,956. In any case, the representatives of women poker players deserve a standing ovation and still have time to justify their skill despite their low turnout estimated at 2-3% average of the field and only 12% in paid places according to the forecast of specialized columnists.
