Vietnamese online games : For an educational and recreational play
The management of online games is a national issue in Vietnam. Within this framework, the Ministry of Information and Communication of the country recently convened a seminar to collect different opinions on a draft regulation to promote and build thriving administration of online gaming. For professionals, they spread the positive impacts of online games such as creating jobs, increasing the number of Internet users and not forgetting the increase of budget revenues. This vision has been corrected by the Deputy Minister of Information and Communication, Do Quy Doan, supported by the chief of management of radio, television and electronic information. Indeed, he accentuated the importance of accompanying measures for effective management to enhance the quality of the expertise of the game content as well as inspections and audits within the companies concerned.
Following the enactment of a ministerial decree on online games in June 2006 with still failures, the Vietnamese government has choosen to share with representatives of various classes of society this bill regulators composed of 4 chapters and 24 sections including 12 sections talking about the quality of expertise, inspection and control as well as the responsibilities and interests of companies involved in developing online games. This was done in order to be able to take a decision this month. What is certain is that the Vietnamese leaders want games described as positive, educational and recreational, and this applies also poker and the sports betting.
