World Series of Poker: The exploits of Vladimir Schmelev
If some months before, the name of Vladimir Schmelev was virtually unknown to the poker community, now it has gained a good reputation thanks to the exploits that the Russian player has done recently. The World Series of Poker tournament has just begun and has already seen Schmelev great success as a place as runner up at the $ 50,000 Players Championship Event, ranking seventh in a seven-card stud championship of $ 10,000 buy-in and seven-card stud eight-or-better championship of $ 10,000. And last Saturday, he again tried to appear on the final table of an event with a very high buy-in. This was in the $ 10,000 buy-in Omaha eight-or-better.
Apparently, the Russian poker ace is accompanied by a lot of opportunity because he has accumulated the second largest carpet of the day after David Benyamine. This event has registered a field of 213 players and 145 of them have access to the Day 2 of the competition. Among them are pros of the game like Chino Rheem, David Baker, Jennifer Harman, Nick Schulman, Perry Friedman, Phil Hellmuth and Phil Ivey while other notable players like Doyle Brunson, Eric Buchman, Hoyt Corkins, Jason Mercier, Scott Clements, Ted Forrest, Tom Dwan and Tommy Vedas were eliminated early. This ranking of Schmelev reflects his great talent. A great battle for the title, the bracelet and the prestigious prize has been initiated since last Sunday.
