BMW Poker Tour 2010 : Las Vegas as next stop
The month of May 2010 ends with the first edition of the BMW Poker Tour on the island of La Reunion after 30 days of competition with the six qualifying tournaments. During the final table which took place at the Casino de Saint-Gilles during the day of Sunday, May 30th, the eight finalists players gave their best for six hours of play to clinch the ticket to the annual world championship in Las Vegas with an all inclusive package. After 360 minutes of match, Loïc Virapin-Apu was the winner of these tournaments and therefore will represent the small island of the Indian Ocean.
Getting back to the fateful day of the final table, the winning player, Dionysian, 29 years is not so new to this card game because he is a professional player for over three years. Despite his short stack elsewhere in this final stage, he was calm and not afraid to go with this handicap to face his adversaries. The verdict was in his favor. Note also that the second and the third player of the ranking of the season could also receive a travel provided by partners of the competition if they are qualified, and the five other players can pay themselves their ticket if they want to try the great adventure in Las Vegas and play among the 5,000 to 6,000 players scheduled for the main tournament. Finally, this first edition of the BMW Poker Tour brought together some 600 poker players on the island.
