Baltic Film Festival : In Tallinn from 16th to 19th June 2010
The 2010 edition of the Baltic Festival will be held from the 6th to the 19th June 2010 in the remarkable hotel Swissotel Tallinn Estonia City. If the entry fee for the Main Event was 1,100 during the previous edition, the ticket for the main event of this year will experience an increase of about 400. This should increase the appetite of a large number of professional poker players and will perhaps help to ensure a new regional record. The first Baltic Festival held in October of last year brought together a field of 307 players from 24 countries which generate a prize pool of over 300,000. It was the largest poker tournament in the history of the region. "It was a great event last year and I will recommend it to all players," said the professional player Peter Eastgate.
Some of the biggest names in poker were present in 2009 including Eastgate, JC Alvarado, Johnny Lodden, Tony G and William Thorson and sports stars such as Mats Sundin, Swedish hockey legend, the Danish tennis player Kenneth Carlsen and F1 champion Sami Selio. Thomas Partridge has won the main event with 75,000 prize, while the High Roller 10,600 was won by a Finn for 52.000 of gain. Besides the Main Event and the High Roller, the organizers promise many accompanying events for this year.
