WPT Barcelona : Ali Tekintamgac grabbed the title
The last kick of the World Poker Tour (WPT) Barcelona was held at the Gran Casino of Barcelona on Sunday. This tournament was very successful because it brought together 326 players for the main event of 3,200 + 300 buy-in, generating a magnificent prize pool of 1,043,200. The tidy sum of 315,000 was devoted to the winner. The 9 finalists for this stage of the WPT had fought hard to clinch the first place. The battle was very hard so after two hours of play, three competitors including Manuel Cuberos Lopez Cozar, Bartolome Gomila Romero and Emil Per Mattsson had to leave the poker table. Despite a difficult start, the only representative of France on the final table, Tristan Clémençon had nevertheless done a magnificent feat because he finished in 6th place and has been awarded the nice bonus of 51,000.
After the departure of the French player, Mads Hansen, Manuel Blaschke and Mats Erik Iremark were also eliminated. The final duel was between the favorite Spanish Roberto Garcia Santiago and the German Tekintamgac Ali. This final head's up did not last long because the German has completely dominated the game especially as Santiago advanced in this final struggle with a very poor stack. It was the second participation in a major tournament of Tekintamgac although he has already accumulated many experiences over his 20 years career if we referred only to his good performance at the European Poker Tour in Monte Carlo during which he finished in the 125th place. We must therefore say that Tekintamgac had done a second great feat by winning the title of this tournament.
