SpreadBet: Pro Andrew Feldman in front of the court
The young English poker player Andrew Feldman was on the cover of many tabloids this weekend because of a judiciary case involving the player and a rabbi. The 22 years poker player, from Hertfordshire after having registered a loss of £ 700,000 during a poker party obviously wanted to fill the breach at any price. Then Rabbi Nissim Simon, a close friend of Feldman, would have given him a quick solution to repair it. The Rabbi proposed to Feldman to put some spreadbets on the Dow Jones and they will share the gains. Instead of earning profits, he received a negative bill of £ 140,000.
Feldman said that while the rabbi has put the bet in his name, he also placed a large number of other spreadbets which was not part of the agreement. Feldman focuses on the fact that the two men have both agreed to bet about 5 per session, but the rabbi had placed 77 bet in just four hours, leaving a negative balance of £ 140,000. The lawyer for Nissim, Richard Ritchie, refutes the statements of Feldman. He even says that Feldman was ready to risk up to £ 200,000 and was informed, and after each lost session Feldman said to Nissim to continue. Feldman, for his part refuses to pay the bill and asked the Judge Richard Snowden QC to cancel the claim made by the rabbi. No decision has been taken until here, the judge said he would give his sentence at a later date.
