EPT Monte Carlo: Americans lead the pack during the Day 2
From a field of 413 players to 117 players, we can say that the eliminations of Day 1B of the European Poker Tour Monte Carlo have been rather severe. Americans monopolized five places in the top ten and the chip leader is none other than Nick Schulman who, no later than in San Remo, was still in 42 th place. Following him are his compatriots David Sesso in second place with 642,500 chips, Nathan Royce Tuthill seventh with 507,500, David Parades 9th with 466,500 and Chris Moneymaker 10th with 457,000. As regards the others, France is in the top three thanks to Jean-Francois Talbot, third with 635,000.
Speaking of French players, the tricolor tennis hope Gael Monfils had to pack up like Bueno Patrick, Hugo and Bruno Lemaire Launis, without going into the money. But he has still a good excuse because it was only his first major poker tournament. Otherwise, they are still number 23 to be eligible to start on the Day 3 and from there, the future qualified players of the EPT will pocket a minimum of 15,000. Four other countries are also in the Top 10 of the day, namely the United Kingdom with Matt Perrins, Finland with Sami Kelopuro, Italy with Domenico Iannone and Belarus with Aleh Plauski. But the second day of the massacre has not spared the biggest of poker greats such as Joe Cada, Joe Hachem, Greg Raymer, and the ladies crowned as Liv Boeree and Isabelle Mercier.
