WiPHoF: Some changes in the appointment process
The Board of Directors for the selection into the Woman in Poker Hall of Fame or WiPHoF has announced some changes in the selection process for the enthronement into the Poker Hall of Fame for woman to be held in May during the Labor Day. To recall, previously only board members could suggest a candidate. Starting this year, everyone can nominate a candidate for this enthronement. "The nomination process is important because we believe that somewhere there is women who are eligible and deserving”, said Karina Jett, a board member. "We invite the public to help us assemble worthy candidates for the vote this year," she said.
To be eligible, each woman must have played an active role in the industry of poker for 15 years and according to a press release issued by the Woman in Poker Hall of Fame (WiPHoF) last week, "every woman must have contributed significantly to the poker. In addition to this new process of designation, the vote will also be open to the public and will count for 50% of the results. The other half will be voted by the winners and current board members. The vote by the public will be open on May 16th on the site of WiPHoF. The purpose of WiPHoF is to highlight those women who have marked poker. It is therefore too early to see members of the younger generation. Mercier, Rousso, Schoenberg and Selbst will still have to wait some years before they can dream to belong to this nomination.
