Spanish Poker Tour Aranjuez: Valentin Messina on the final table
For the first time in the history of the Spanish Poker Tour (SPT), a woman has won the Main Event, and the price of 45.000. Four days of battle were not enough to reduce her combativeness. Rather, it was the former champion of the 2009 edition of the SPT that took place in the Canaries, Steven Van Zadelhoff, who was beaten by the Portuguese poker player. Note that the two final opponents belong to the same house. It was in a suburb of Madrid called Aranjuez that the opening of this fourth edition of the SPT had taken place. 156 participants have paid the buy-in of 1,100 and generated a prize pool of 150,000. Each round lasted one hour and each player had originally 15,000 chips. French players were as usual many and they have also begun to make themselves a reputation.
In 2009, it was Nicolas Paloniato who won the victory in Vilamoura. This year, Valentin Messina, already champion of the France Poker Tour, distinguished himself by winning the 9th place and he pocketed also for this ranking the sum of 3,500. He may claim the title of the best player of the year as part of SPT. In the top 10 of the final outcome of this meeting, the classification is therefore Catarina Santos in the first place, followed by Steven Van Zadelhoff, then Jesus Montes, Fran Garcia, Javier Gomez, Miguel Angel Barajas, Marco Mattes, Jorge del Arco, Valentin Messina, and finally Berenguer Minaud. The next appointmentwill be held at Ibiza, from the 14th to the 16th of May.
