French act on online gambling : Balkany on the hot seat
As part of the confrontation that occurred between the French left and right when addressing the topic of the law on online gambling, poker and sports betting on the internet, the PS deputy, Gaƫtan Gorce has published an article on the Internet involving Alexander Balkany, son of Patrick Balkany. His remarks implied the existence of interests in some poker companies of Balkany Junior which he denounced illegal practices. What has not failed to respond deputy mayor of Levallois-Perret, stating that neither his family nor his son are involved in an online game company. But the reply of the Socialist deputy sought to refute this defense of the UMP deputy that it referred to Alexander as the CEO of a major online poker site. Gorce has even supported his argument by citing publications asserted by the applicant and previously listed in the newspapers, confession about his intention to expand his activities which already thrive outside the law. He has therefore sought to draw the attention of the Assembly on the reasons of his indignation.
An article dated on the 22nd of February seems not to oppose the claims of the socialist and even seems to confirm the illegal activities of the man he accuses. According to Alexander's statements contained therein, his website that he boasts as the French leader in operating a market of online poker that has existed for many years. He confesses his desire to maintain this position against the arrival of competitors that would bring the market regulation.
