Poker Channel: The British TV channel seeks buyer
In an article published in the Telegraph on Saturday, Gaming Media Group, which owns Poker Channel but also an online poker site, focuses on the possibility of selling its two properties. Gaming Media Group was founded by Crispin Nieboer and Shaun Barron with a group of venture capital in 2005. According to the Telegraph, the sale price of these two units would be some £ 25 million. A potential buyer may be able to acquire them quickly. Companies from Asia and other foreign companies are also interested in the selling. Even if the poker gaming platform Media Group is one of the best sites in the UK with an annual turnover of £ 11.3 million, Poker Channel is the most coveted.
Poker Channel is a TV station that broadcasts 24h /24 and 7 days / 7 continuous emission around poker. The chain also do the coverage of major European events like the Irish Poker Open or the Grosvenor United Kingdom Poker Tour. It also has contractual rights to broadcast the World Series of Poker (WSOP) and the World Poker Tour (WPT). The chain retain on their chairs millions of viewers through the show Million Dollar Cash Game. It has no fewer than 17 million listeners across 20 European countries. The TV channel also has a branch on the web, in 2008 the parent company has launched a website that provides tutorials, videos and footage of tournaments or cash games seen on The Poker Channel.
