Prop bet: Ivey decided to abandon and loses $ 150,000
Prop Bet is common in the world of poker, players devote themselves to this play to break the monotonous rhythms of poker tournaments. Some of these bets often graze the edge of the whimsical and wacky. The last betting known was done between Phil Ivey and Tom Dwan, the bet was originally discussed and agreed during the fourth episode of High Stakes Poker. Originally Ivey wanted the bet to be worth $ 2 million to better motivate them to not eat meat for a year. Finally, the two men have agreed to $ 1 million for Ivey if he can not eat "anything that moves" for a year.
Initially, Ivey was confident: "I think I can do, so it's a bit like an extra incentive." Later that positive behavior had changed and could be heard at the table, "I'm going to lose," I know I'll lose". At the Million Dollar Challenge Europe, rumors were circulating that Phil Ivey was already considering the purchase of the stake. Finally, the breaking point came three weeks after the agreement. According to the Danish magazine Ace Poker Magazine, while Phil Ivey was sitting at a dinner with friends, he was confronted face to a piece of chicken and found he could not retain from eating for one year. Rather than losing $ 1 million, Ivey decided to call Dwan and the two friends have finally opted for a consensus of 150,000 dollars.
